About
Hillstock- Hillstock is an independently owned Maine-based
company that specializes in acquiring, digitizing and licensing
vintage stock illustration. The Hillstock Collection™ is
registered with the United States Copyright Office. We are a proud
member of the Maine
Made program. All of our cards are printed in our Maine design
studio.
About
our Cards- Hillstock Greetings, a product line of Hillstock,
LLC, was launched in the summer of 2005 but was three years in
the making. The company owner and greeting card designer, Averyl
Hill, became aware of a need for high quality reproduction cards.
While there are many low-priced nostalgic cards on the market,
most are mechanically produced in mass quantities using printing
techniques, inks and papers that are not engineered for vintage
art or archival purposes. We imprint images from The Hillstock
Collection™ onto heavyweight cotton rag archival paper with
acid-free inks.
About
our Vintage Hankies and Christmas Linens- Company owner
Averyl Hill attends many auctions, estate sales, antique shops
and other places to acquire our vintage handkerchiefs. Many were
stored for decades by the original owners inside of a trunk, keepsake
box or closet and still have their original tags, and mostly date
from the 1940's - 1960's. Others have been adored by their former
owners and now are very soft to the touch, the way vintage linens
often can be.

Generally,
even though our hankies are either in unused new, excellent or
gently used condition, we do not sell hankies "as found"
like some sellers, for even stored, unused hankies will not be
fresh. We inspect our vintage handkerchiefs by holding them up
to a bright light to check for holes, tears or fraying edges,
remove any tags, then hand wash and steam press them so that they
are clean and ready for use. We do not use starch so that they
retain their softness. Any hankies with visible holes, fraying
or stains will not be sold by us.
